FFL Info/Disclaimer

An FFL dealer is a business or individual with a Federal Firearms License. These licensees are usually gun shops, gunsmiths, and manufacturers, but can also be individuals. FFL dealers have been approved by the ATF to do background checks and take all the other necessary steps to transfer guns to individuals legally. Any firearm being shipped to an individual must be shipped to a local FFL dealer so that its transfer can be processed in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.

Firearms Restrictions by State: Certain states have different rules on what is and is not allowed within the confines of the state border. To avoid making this page longer than it needs to be, please consult your local, state, and federal regulations before purchasing a firearm. A compiled list maintained by the ATF can be found here.

Purchasing firearms online from DC Training & Tactics:

Upon purchase of your firearm, DCTT will notify you when your firearm has arrived and is ready for paperwork to be filled out. Most firearms are ready within 3-5 business days. Alternatively, we will ship directly to the Federal Firearm License (FFL) of your choice, just specify which FFL you would like to use, while checking out. Federal law requires all modern firearms must be shipped to an FFL holder, which is usually any type of business that sells firearms. We are required by the ATF to have a physical copy of an FFL holders license before we can ship your item to them.

Please note that in accordance to §922(a)(2) of The Gun Control Act of 1968, DC Training and Tactics does not SHIP firearms directly to the end-user. All sales of firearms must go through a federally licensed dealer or gun shop. If you do not hold a Federal Firearms License, you must have your local dealer contact us with their information in order to complete the sale.

Please check your local, state, and federal laws and regulations before placing an order. Some special federal, state, and/or local permissions and/or licenses may be required for some purchases. Please contact your local authorities and/or BATFE for clarifications concerning purchasing and modifications.

It is your responsibility to coordinate with the FFL dealer to pickup your item. Most dealers charge a transfer fee and handle any background check or related fees.

When you pick up your firearm, inspect it to ensure the condition is acceptable before completing the transfer. Once the firearm is transferred, you will have to consult with the manufacturer if there are any defects or warranty matters.

Please ensure that you are at least 18 years of age and are legally permitted to purchase and own a Firearm. You must be 21 to purchase a handgun/pistol. If you are denied possession of any item for any reason, and the item must be returned to DC Training and Tactics, there will be a restocking fee and shipping charges applied to the refund.

If you have never dealt with an FFL Dealer, you will want to contact a local FFL first to ensure they are willing to perform transfers and find out their transfer fee and schedule.

If having a firearms transferred to DC Training & Tactics, please have your retailer contact don@dctrainingandtactics.com for a copy of our FFL paperwork.
